What is an Emergency Medical Condition?

Car accidents are know to deal physical and property damages that ranges from minor to life-threatening sustenance of major injuries and at some extent, some minor injuries were known to develop in to a disabling complication that can affect patient's quality of life and ability to earn.

Road accidents, on the other hand, are considered one of the main cause of human death as there is an approximately 1.3 million people die each year as a result of road traffic crashes. Most of these death are not dead on the spot but are dead on arrival or due to progressive condition of their injury with addition of their already present health condition and unfortunately for those patient facing such, medical bills for recuperation and surgical operation involving serious conditions are pretty huge, in retrospect and from experience.

There is a concrete and established way by the medical field in the government for patient who are in peril and dire emergency to get immediate financial reward from the at-fault party that is issued by a doctor following a car accident. The Emergency Medical Condition or EMC, is a paper that cause the auto insurance company from the at-fault party to release the full amount of the true value of the personal injury case for the purpose to cover the patient's medical expenses. On the other hand, PIP or Personal Injury Protection is a required coverage for automobile owners in most states.

For brief explanation, if your physician or medical professional who is in charge of your care assesses your injuries sustained from the recent car accident and resulted in an Emergency Medical Condition, it is a go signal for you, as a victim, to be ready to settle your medical payment from the medical institution you were in for recuperation and it means that you are required to document the initial injury you have sustained and compiled properly. For the PIP side, they independently assess whether an injury is an emergency or not and usually not align with medical findings and agree that it is an emergeny, they still label it as an Emergency Medical Condition or not and if so, they requires the EMC report too.
